Innovation for Health - Shaping the future of healthcare

Fizzy

Chiwei Luu & Tino Borst

The condition of children is strongly reduced during and after the treatment of cancer. They and thousands of other sick children in the Netherlands alone, stagnate in their physical development because their physical activity is too low. Fizzy is an autonomous robotic ball that challenges children in the hospital to play and move. After 4 years of research a prototype has been realised. Fizzy contributes to a faster recovery, promotes the development of the child and helps create a more pleasant time while in the hospital. With its own character and natural play, Fizzy can be every sick child’s playmate.
