How disruptive technologies can help in creating solutions for value-based care
New technologies, like miniaturized smart devices, the internet of medical things, artificial intelligence, and the “digital twin” of the patient hold great promise to help address some of the world’s most pressing healthcare challenges. Technology push is not the answer, however. The aim should be to make care more predictive, precise and personalized, leading to better clinical outcomes. And equally important, to help contain costs, and improve patient and staff experience. We refer to this as the quadruple aim.

To do so effectively an integrated solutions approach is required, innovations need to be developed together with the key stakeholders in the healthcare system, and the impact needs to be quantified.

Hear first-hand how global health technology company Philips is leading the shift to value-based care, using a people-centric and outcomes focused innovation approach. Henk van Houten, Philips' Chief Technology Officer, will explain how this is being done taking cardiology as an example. His talk will touch upon precision diagnosis, image guided therapy, ubiquitous monitoring and acute care.
