Koos van der Hoeven(1952)is medical oncologist, practiced in Ziekenhuis Amstelveen from 1988-2007 and from 2017-2012 in the Medisch Centrum Alkmaar. From 2012-2015 he was head of the department of Medical Oncology at the Leiden University Medical Center, and from 2015 he had the same position at the Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen. He was chair of the Dutch Society of Medical Oncology (NVMO) and of SONCOS (official collaboration between medical oncologists, surgical oncologists and radiotherapists oncologist in the Netherlands). He plays an important role in the discussion about access to new expensive drugs against cancer, among others as chair of a special committee of the Dutch Cancer Society. He is board member of the Dutch Institute of Clinical Auditing and chair of the Dutch Melanoma Treatment Registry ( DMTR). In medical oncology he has focus on breast cancer, melanoma and immunotherapy.
