Dr. ir. Maaike Kleinsmann (1976) is an Associate Professor in Design and Innovation at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at the TU Delft. Moreover, she is Theme Lead Cardiology Tech of the TU Delft Health Initiative and Director of CardioLab. CardioLab is a collaboration between TU Delft, De Hartstichting and Philips Design that aims to reduce the burden of cardiac diseases through design and with the use of smart digital technologies. Through research projects in CardioLab, Kleinsmann aims to develop and test new (collaborative) design methods that equip industrial designers to design for a connected world.
Abstract
CardioLab: A seedbed for designing smart solutions that reduce the burden of cardiac diseases.
During the talk Kleinsmann will present design methods and examples —mainly created in CardioLab— that show how the availability of sensory and qualitative use data could support the design of smart products and services that will radically and positively change the life of cardiac patients (to be).
