Project leader, GezondheidFabriek
Sandra Migchielsen is project leader with the GezondheidFabriek (‘HealthFactory’), previously Health & Wellbeing Innovation Centre Almere. She obtained her PhD from Leiden University generating a mouse model to study genetherapy. After a spell as publisher with international scientific publishing house Elsevier, she took on another coordinating, spider-in-the-web position with the Amsterdam Innovation Motor and Amsterdam Economic Board. Here she has been building a strong Life Sciences & Health cluster aka Amsterdam BioMed Cluster and AmsterdamHealth. Together with industry, academia and public partners numerous activities and projects were carried out stimulating collaboration, innovation and growth within the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. Shifting her focus to promoting (inter)national collaboration and innovation in health and care, she joined the GezondheidFabriek in 2016. Here she matches supply and demand by facilitating innovation projects applying modern technology and data science to today’s societal challenges. Quadruple helix (citizens, knowledge, business, government) collaboration for a better quality of life at affordable cost!
