Senior Research Technician Cardiology m/f, Leiden
Have you lost your heart to mammalian cell lines? As Research Technician of the Leiden Regenerative Medicine Platform (LRMP), you will be involved in the generation, banking and characterization of new human and rodent cell lines using our recently developed conditional immortalization technology. Your daily activities will consist of cell isolation, culture, purification/sorting and aliquoting/cryopreservation, molecular cloning and analysis (immunocytology, RT-qPCR, Southern blotting, [inverse] PCR, [COBRA] FISH) and (lenti)viral vector production.
The LUMC is a center for medical innovation that aims to improve patient care through leading international research. So as to also provide our patients with a safe and friendly environment, we need doctors, medical care specialists, support staff and academic researchers.
You will be hosted, on behalf of the LRMP, in LUMC’s Laboratory of Experimental Cardiology (LEC), which has been recently renewed. At the LEC 2 principal investigators, 3 postdoctoral fellows, 6 PhD students and 3 technicians are performing frontline cardiovascular research and possesses ample of experience in mammalian cell line development.

- several years work experience
- higher vocational education in Laboratory Technology, Biology, Biomedicine or Biotechnology
- special interest in and feeling for working with mammalian cells
- efficient, precise and reliable
- good at keeping detailed records of your experimental work
- highly proficient in spoken and written English
You will be employed on the basis of a 36-hour week. Appointment will initially be for 1 year, but may be extended. Your salary will depend on your qualifications and experience, with a maximum of € 3,391 gross per month based on a 36-hour week (scale 8, CAO UMC).
